What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is a simple way for you to share your accomplishments. It is a way for your colleagues to see—and trust—the qualifications you’ve achieved. Digital badges can be used in email signatures or digital resumes, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Once you’ve shared your badge, with one simple click employers and other interested parties can easily view and verify your skills and experience required to earn the badge.

How does a digital badge benefit me?

Digital badges keep your credentials centralized and up to date in a web-based world. They give you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers with concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and of your current capabilities.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

5 Dynamics has partnered with Credly to take the learning outcomes you demonstrated during your training program and to translate those into a badge, issued and managed through the company’s Acclaim platform. The technology Credly uses on its Acclaim platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

You will receive an email notification from Acclaim (admin@youracclaim.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

When creating your account on Acclaim, we recommend providing a secondary email in addition to a primary email in your Acclaim profile settings to keep your earned badges portable in the event that your primary email changes.

What do I do with a digital badge? How do I share it with others?

Once you accept your earned badge in Acclaim, you should share it with LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and email to promote your brand. Watch this brief video on how to get started.

What if I don’t want my badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Acclaim platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee to use Credly’s Acclaim platform?

No. This is a service we provide to you, at no additional cost.

What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly’s Acclaim platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.
